Florence Green, the world's last known veteran of World War I,
has died at the age of 110, prompting the announcement by
British Prime Minister, David Cameron, to close the Office of
World War I Veteran Affairs. "Over the next 10 years," he
announced, "we will be scaling back the effort of this office
and eliminating over 40,000 unnecessary personnel who have
served and protected the interests of our WWI veterans for
the last century."
